In the northern section of Palm Beach, Florida, many fishermen make their way to Jupiter where they stand a chance to catch the majestic thirty pound fish known simply as the kingfish. What a more becoming name for the kings of Florida fish.

The kingfish is a close shore fish which can easily be hooked in local inlets near Jupiter, but after hooking it things get a bit harder. The king will give you a big fight without even mentioning it, on top of that, once you have that king on the line, you have to try and get it onboard as quick as possible. Smokers are the larger kings that no longer belong to a school, but rather become solitary and barracuda-like. They are often seen skimming through the surf and snagging up their prey at speeds that would make a barracuda tremble.
