Fishing in the dark can be quite an interesting experience for anglers. The challenge of being there after the lights have gone off and waiting to make a big catch can be very exciting on one hand. However, on the other, the task of catching fish in the dark requires some amount of expert knowledge.

Fishes are attracted towards light. It would be a good idea to carry fluorescent or glowing baits and fishing lines so that your catch is lured by the glow. Carrying a safety jacket and having a horn onboard are some other preparations for safe fishing in the dark. It would be advisable to stay close to the shore and not venture further out unless you are an expert or have an experienced hand with you. Be patient and be alert as you cannot be sure of the surprises that the water may hold in store for you.
